Once again brazen violence took the life of a Chicago Police officer. Michael Flisk, an Evidence Technician, was killed while processing the scene of a burglary on the South Side. Officer Flisk had almost 20 years on the job. Also killed was a former CHA and Robbins Police officer, Stephen Peters. Mr. Peters was the victim of the burglary.
Flisk is the sixth Chicago Police officer killed this year and the second killed this week. According to many this is the deadliest year for police officers since the 1960s.
There are no words fit enough to express the sorrow we, as a city should feel. Condolences to the family and to the men and women of the Chicago Police Department.
