You have to love stupid people. They provide us with so much sad entertainment.
He was told to surrender the weapon or he would not be allowed to vote. He stormed out of the polling place and did what reasonable people do. He wrote letters and contacted the media. There is no law in Maine prohibiting armed police officers from wearing weapons in polling places. One would think an election warden would know that. One would be wrong.
According to the election warden, it was a matter of public safety. He claims that as an election warden he has a right to make a determination regarding safety.
I guess an on duty uniformed police officer presents a threat to the safety and well being of voters.
This is the sheer stupidity of the bureaucratic mindset.
