UPDATE- Is this the Chicago way?

“Mr. Mayor, will that big barrel fit in my mouth?”

According to sources and NBC Chicago, the mystery “suspect” who was allegedly abused by the police is a relative of a member of the IPRA- the agency that investigates physical abuse.  Sources also claim the “suspect” has some “relationship” to a department member who works at Police Headquarters.  Is this why Jody acted so swiftly?  To soothe the clout heavy patronage employee relatives?

Could this be the reason Jody Weis held the late Friday press conference?  Could this be the reason for his total over-kill-reaction to the incident?  Could this be the reason for his rush to judgment and the immediate negative actions against the sergeant and officers involved- before a determination was reached?  Could this relative of the “suspect” be a clout heavy patronage employee?  If the above is true, should IPRA even investigate this matter?  Conflict of interest anyone?

Sources also claim the “suspect” spit on the officers- an aggravated battery.  Also, human saliva is considered a bio-hazard and pathogen- a dangerous weapon.  So, if all of the above is true, why the rush to negatively impact the careers of the officers?  Why the late Friday press conference?  Why the circus being led by the HCIC- Head Clown in Charge?

No matter what the supposed Superintendent says, there are more questions than answers. It would be nice, if for once, this fancy pants Junior G Man would just tell the truth.  It would be nice if he were an honest and above board.

Note: Police brutality or unwarranted abuse of any kind should not be tolerated.  However, allegations should be investigated in an objective and impartial manner.  No officer should suffer the indignity of being punished or humiliated before an impartial investigation is completed and a proper legal determination is made.
