Pat Quinn, a living, breathing, walking, talking, conflict if interest actually stated that during his debate with Bill Brady yesterday.  The issue was ethics.

Quinn is ethical?  He, who takes big campaign money from state employee unions then gives them sweet heart contracts- in return for public endorsements of course.  That is not a conflict of interest?

The guy who appoints friends and their wives to high paying meaningless posts?  The guy who takes big money campaign contributions from major litigation law firms to stop tort reform?  The governor who pushed through a statewide construction program that only benefits certain contractors and unions?

Pat Quinn is the definition of conflict of interest.

Brady slammed Quinn for praising Blagojevich as a “decent and honorable man” before the two were re-elected as a team in 2006.  “Either you were in it for your own good or you were asleep at the wheel,” Brady said.

But, wait, there’s more.  Pat Quinn is a Democrat.  He a a member of the party of conflicts of interest in Illinois.  When the Democrats who run the legislature sent a badly diluted ethics bill to his desk for his signature, Quinn did not get on his bully pulpit and send it right back.  He did not go to the media raging and slamming his pals.  He did not demand they make it stronger and put some teeth into it.  He signed it.  Without even a whimper.

From the time that he and Blagojevich were elected until today there has been no good government in Illinois.  No honest or ethical government.  There has just been pay to play and friends and family.
