Business

“Illinois State Chamber of Commerce President Doug Whitley says business
folks “are much more sensitive to what’s at stake” this time. “The Democrats
who have been in charge for a decade have failed miserably. Look at the
budget, the condition of the Illinois economy,” he says.”
(Greg Hinz- Crains)

Business and commercial interests in Illinois usually cozy up to the party in power and snuggle a little with the minority party.  They have finally come to realize they have been betrayed.  The Democrats have done nothing in all these years for business in general.  They may have done favors or loosened restrictions for individual entities, but overall, Illinois is one of the least business friendly states in the nation.

The Illinois State Chamber of Commerce is right.  The Democrats have failed miserably.  But, it is not only the budget condition.  Business and industry create jobs and two streams of tax revenue.  The revenue the actual business pays to the state and the revenue from their employees- income taxes, sales taxes, etc.  With businesses and manufacturers downsizing or leaving the state those revenues are lost.

Democrats are more concerned with pleasing the extreme liberal special interests and unions who fill their coffers with huge campaign contributions.  Business has finally realized they’ve been had.  The Democrats in Springfield are not their friends.  They are the enemy.  It is hoped they publicly endorse Republicans for state wide office.  It is hoped the various industry, business, and manufacturers, associations, plus individual businesses- big and small- endorse, support, and donate money to the Republican cause.

Supporting the Democrats is a one lane road leading to a cliff.
